Who are you?

If a complete stranger walked up to you and asked, "Who are you," what would your response be? Would you just tell them your name? Would you include your place of residence? Marital status? Job title?

I have always struggled with who I am, who I want to be, and how others perceived me. Even to this day, one of the hardest tasks that I've had to accomplish regarding this new business venture was completing the "About Me" section on this website and standing in front of a village board to explain to them "who I am" and exactly what it is that I do.

Why, is this 3-word question so complicated? Is it because we don't really know ourselves? Are we too consumed with what we want the PERCEPTION of ourselves to be, versus the reality? Maybe for the new year we need to really spend time with ourselves, some paper, and a pen to explore who we are, what we do, and why we do it.

Maybe once we get to know ourselves better, we can present that person to the world and unapologetically live the life that we desire and deserve.
