The Sacral Chakra is the 2nd chakra of our body. The function of the sacral chakra is directed by the principle of pleasure. It’s the driving force for the enjoyment of life through the senses, whether it’s auditory, through taste, touch, or sight. Opening your sacral chakra allows you to truly feel the world around and in us. It plays a vital role in our foundational well-being.
An imbalance of the 2nd chakra is related to:
• Emotional overreactions • Excessive emotional attachment to people or objects; excessive neediness in relationships • Codependency • Fear of happiness or pleasure, self-sabotage • Lack of creativity and authenticity • Low libido • Pessimism, depression • Irregular menstrual cycle, urinary or bladder infections • Muscle tension and abdominal cramps • Lower back pain or stiffness
Tips to begin balancing your Sacral Chakra:
1. Dietary changes-Eating food, such as oranges, melons, coconuts, and other sweet fruits are good sacral chakra healing food. Cinnamon is also useful, as is drinking plenty of water.
2. Connect with water: Take a bath, go for a swim, or relax near open water.
3. Be creative and explore old and/or new hobbies.
4. Focus on self-pleasure and healthy sexual energy.
