About For the past 16 years, I’ve served as a licensed Clinical Massage Therapist, specializing in identifying and treating the root cause of both acute and chronic pain. So, what does “clinical” really mean? It means I use a deeper, therapeutic approach—combining assessment, targeted techniques, and holistic healing—to help your body release tension, restore mobility, and support long-term relief. Massage is more than a profession for me—it’s my purpose. I believe true healing happens when we address the whole person: the body, mind, and spirit. Many chronic conditions come from more than physical strain—they can be influenced by unprocessed emotional trauma, stress, negative thought patterns, or imbalances within the body’s energy centers. My intention is to create a transformative, restorative experience that nurtures your physical comfort while supporting your emotional wellness and energetic alignment. When these systems work together, you feel lighter, clearer, and truly whole. My Journey After graduating from The Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago, I spent several years working in a wide range of massage settings before transitioning into a physical therapy clinic. For seven years, I supported clients daily—helping them manage pain, improve mobility, and recover from injuries. But even with the hands-on experience, something felt incomplete. I knew I was helping, but I also knew I wasn’t creating the deep, lasting transformation I envisioned for my clients’ overall health and well-being. Eventually, comfort turned into restlessness. My intuition kept nudging me toward something bigger—something more aligned with the way I was meant to serve. One day, I listened. I took a leap of faith, left the security of my job, and launched my own practice. I didn’t have a blueprint or all the answers. What I did have was a deep knowing that my purpose went far beyond being “just another massage therapist.” As I grew personally and professionally, I started recognizing the threads of my true calling. Every challenge, every lesson, and every breakthrough shaped the healer I am today—one who blends clinical massage, holistic bodywork, emotional wellness, and energy alignment to help people heal from the inside out. Most recently, I embarked on another major transformation: Relocating to the North Dallas / Allen–McKinney area to bring my unique approach to therapeutic and holistic healing to a new community. While I now practice full-time in Texas, I continue to visit Chicago to serve my loyal Chicagoland clients who have supported me from the beginning. My wellness journey with Marquita started in March of 2016. I had a terrible bout of sciatica that started in January 2016. I had done everything I thought possible. Two Dr. Visits who prescribed 3 types of pain meds, physical therapy, acupuncture and I even made adjustments to my food intake, nothing worked. I was in excruciating pain day and night. I couldn’t walk 25 feet (really). I was referred to the Director of the Soma Institute who reached out to his former students via Facebook and Marquita contacted me the same day. We booked right away. She came to my home and after the first visit I was feeling relief. I stopped Pain meds, and used ice, heat and rest.
